This is a summary of "Heets" sticks, and includes a commentary by German magazine BRIGITTE beauty editor Heike Rheker, a lifelong smoker, who wanted and attempted to quit smoking, but was unable to do so. She instead opted for "Heets". Because "Heets" heat the tobacco at lower temperatures than cigarettes which actually burn, they produce no fire, ash, or smoke. This reduces the levels of harmful chemicals compared to cigarette smoke; "Heets" are advertised as not so risky as cigarettes are perceived to be. Frau Rheker's commentary is part of an article written by BRIGITTE editor Antje Kunstmann, "then stop it". Source was the June 9, 2021 issue of BRIGITTE magazine, pages 133-134. Frau Kunstmann has written several articles on smoking; "Smoking: bans alone are useless", "Smoking ban: women smoke differently" and "Quit smoking - this is how it works". Although two of them are quite old, their information is still relevant and up to date. Unfortunately, "heets", which appear to be a middle ground between cigarettes and e-cigarettes or nicotine inhalers, are not currently available in North America.

AT LEAST I SMOKE HEALTHIER NOW

I have always smoked with pleasure! After all, I belong to the generation that was able to do this in cinemas, restaurants, planes and trains. Without bad conscience.

But what has always bothered me is the smell that you carry around on your fingers, hair and clothes. This gave me the feeling of being immediately exposed as a smoker. I tried to quit a few times, but unfortunately the addiction was too great. With the non-smoking laws, it got even more annoying, I felt uncomfortable more and more often, almost antisocial, when I stood outside restaurants and smoked. Then I noticed the "Iqos" advertisement with the promise: less pollutants and no cigarette smell! I had to try it immediately.

With the "Heets", the tobacco sticks that go into the "burner", have the shape of a cigarette. I just had to get used to holding it correctly. It's not possible to slack between your index and middle finger, you have to grip the device properly and pull it a little harder. Because of the real tobacco, I don't miss normal cigarettes at all, but I have the impression that I smoke more. Perhaps because the after-smell and taste dissipate very quickly. Of course, "Heets" aren't the same as quitting, but at least I feel like I'm smoking a little "healthier" now.
